Kodi 16.0 (codename Jarvis) is near completion. OSMC has already prepared for this new version of Kodi and we have made test builds available in our forum. As soon as Kodi 16.0 is released, we'll release as part of the next OSMC update.

Last month, we noticed that some Raspberry Pi users experienced a non-bootable system after updating to the December update. The Raspberry Pi foundation released a new SD card driver which seems to have some incompatibility with a few SD cards. We have now reverted to the former driver until these compatibility issues are ironed out.

If you're looking for a great way to control OSMC, Sunday 31st January is the last day to catch the OSMC remote at its introductory price.

Here's what's new:

  • Fix an issue resulting in an unbootable Raspberry Pi caused by card incompatibility with the SDHost MMC driver
  • Fix an issue where Samba would prompt for configuration changes when updating OSMC
  • Security fix for OpenSSH security advisories CVE-2016-0777, CVE-2016-07778
