OSMC's June update is here with Kodi v18.3
Team Kodi recently announced the 18.3 point release of Kodi Leia. We have now prepared this for all supported OSMC devices and added some improvements and fixes. Here's what's new:
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue which could cause dropouts when watching Live TV using TVHeadend on Vero 4K / 4K +
- Fixed an issue which would cause some games under Kodi's retrogaming platform to not work correctly on Vero 4K / 4K +
- Fixed an issue where some videos with a negative presentation timestamp would not play correctly on Vero 4K / 4K +
- Fixed an issue which could cause poor performance when using Hyperion when watching 4K content on Vero 4K / 4K +
- Fixed an issue parsing supported 3D modes by a display on Vero 4K / 4K +
Improving the user experience
- Prefer higher resolutions when using Kodi's whitelisting mode
- Added support for improved IPTables support on Vero 4K / 4K +
- Added support for watching TV/DVD streams in their native resolutions on Vero 4K / 4K +
- Made installation of OSMC on Vero 4K / 4K + a simpler and easier process when using the Windows or macOS installers
- Improved XPad compatibility for retrogaming on Vero 4K / 4K +
- Improved OSMC DVB-T2/T/C tuner compatibility
- Added new multi image (folder) background option to the OSMC skin
- Added new individual background option for home menu entries to the OSMC skin
- Added new adjust representation of video duration setting to the OSMC skin
- Added new wall info view (based on wall view) to the OSMC skin
- Added new second video info dialog screen (with extended rating, audio and subtitle information and bigger plot text box) to the OSMC skin
- Added new video player OSD settings (show OSD after beginning of playback and before end of playback) to the OSMC skin
Miscellaneous
- Added an additional 64MB to /boot images for installation media
- Fixed an issue which could result in a corrupt installation of OSMC
- Mitigate CVE-2019-11477, CVE-2019-11478, CVE-2019-11479 security vulnerabilities which could result in systems with publicly forwarded ports to become vulnerable to denial of service attacks
- Updated to Kodi v18.3 final
Wrap up
To get the latest and greatest version of OSMC, simply head to My OSMC -> Updater and check for updates manually on your exising OSMC set up. Of course — if you have updates scheduled automatically you should receive an update notification shortly.
